Beatmania IIDX has been an arcade staple in bemani games for years. You use 7 keys and a turntable to dish out the beats and on the fly remix songs. The game has evolved quite a bit as far as difficulty since its roots as "beatmania" (a 5key version seen in arcades and psx.) Happy sky is the 12th installment in the IIDX series and is considered by many to be one of the best collections. The arcade version has a ton of new songs, and plenty of older favorites to suit everyone's palette.

Installation:

For now, we will assume that Happy sky will be installed under C:\Program Files as we need to have a standard for later instructions. (Feel free to place the folder wherever you'd like however.)

1. Unrar the "Happy Sky" folder to C:\Program Files

2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Happy Sky\ECO\JACC

3. Run iidxdevice15.exe

4. Check the box next to "12th(JAB)" Now, change the location in the box to the right to the location you have installed Happy Sky to plus the location of bm2dx_kp.exe. In this case we will change it to "C:\Program Files\Happy Sky\ECO\JACC\bm2dx_kp.exe"

5. The game is now ready to go as far as installation, many people will run into various problems from here.

Getting Started

Once you get the game set up fine I suggest starting in beginners mode to test things out.

At the menu you can also hold the start button (1) to bring up additional options to help you out. I recommend using 5-key mode as 7 keys is hard to play well on a computer keyboard.

The controls for first player are as follows:

Start: 1
Turntable: up and down arrow keys

Black Keys s d f
White keys z x c v

Plz Seed!

Ok... so heres the score, this is Beatmania IIDX DistorteD directly from an arcade Hard Drive in Japan. The Arcade Machines use windows XP Embedded so the game actually runs on most XP SP2 machines. It can be controlled with the Keyboard or any controller using JoyToKey. Read the readme that I included and it will answer any technical questions that you may have... I'm gonna really need the force of god to seed this so please help when you can. As far as I know, this is really hard to find so please help seed after you get it (you might wanna temporarily pause the dl to check out the app but make sure you turn it on after).

- bm2dx_hard_tnl.exe is for ATi cards.
- bm2dx_soft_tnl.exe is for Intel cards.
- config.exe for setting up key mappings, obviously.
- timebase.exe to fix sync.

The remaining old movies (found on GOLD or earlier versions) are not included in any of these (they are also 13.9 GB).
If you have the GOLD HDD just move them over (excluding op.4) to C:\IIDX15\HDD\data\movie.
You can still play old songs without the movies. Just press enter to unfreeze the game whenever it loads.
